Yes. The Launceston Respiratory Clinic will see patients who have symptoms of the common cold/flu. Prescriptions and medical certificates can be provided where appropriate.
No. Only those with Respiratory or COVID symptoms will be able to be seen.
One or more of the following symptoms much be present;
- Runny/stuffy nose
- Fever
- Sore throat
- Cough
Mild to moderate Shortness of breath

Strict infection control measures are in place to ensure patient and staff safety.
- A dedicated training program on infection control and cleaning is mandatory for all staff working in the clinic.
- Masks and hand sanitiser are provided throughout the clinic and surfaces are cleaned between every patient.
- The clinic has been designed to allow a one way flow of patients there is minimal mixing of patients. This includes asking patients to wait in their car until the doctor is ready.
- Well trained doctors and nurses are on staff at all times. Appropriate emergency equipment has been purchased for the clinic.
- The clinic is located in close proximity to the Launceston General Hospital for patients who may require transfer for hospital care.
There is free parking onsite for patients attending the clinic.
No all patients will need to be seen inside the clinic.
Drive through swabs with a very limited clinical assessment are available from Elphin Sports Centre after receiving a referral from your GP or Public Health.
The clinic is run by General Practitioners, Nurses and Specialists from the Launceston Health Hub.
Asymptomatic patients (without respiratory symptoms) are unable to attend this clinic.
